the illustrious street photographers of the twentieth century instituted an idiosyncratic way of seeing. this rhetoric was unrefined, un-cropped, nontraditional, and often haphazard, insofar as delineating esteemed compositional theory and textbook camera technique. via the camera one fashions a visual journal and the machine becomes an extension of the self. the street is a circus, nonsensical phenomenon unfold, and an ever-transient array of fleeting moments expand before the photographer's gaze. the photographer must endeavor to seize this moment prior to its eminent disappearance. it becomes paramount to align one's mind, one's heart, and one's eye when hunting the photograph. to this rhetoric, to this classic way of seeing, in honor of the distinguished street photographers of the twentieth century, i modestly walk in their shadow.
